    KRWMC Segregation Facility

    Our Segregation Facility

Chittagong Port Authority is the largest Sea Port in Bangladesh which is earning about 32% government revenue from ships using the Karnaphuli River. Karnaphuli River is playing a very vital role in national economy as it is connected with Chittagong Port and sea. A huge number of ships are using this river.

The river has been polluted by the garbage of ships, industries and citizens of Chittagong. The erosion of this river has reached an extreme risk level which has become very dangerous for ocean-going ships to come to the Chittagong Port. While Chittagong City Corporation takes care of garbage in city areas, no one was taking care of garbage from ships using the Karnaphuli River.

    Early waste collection operations

Early waste collection operations on Karnaphuli River

Considering the pollution state in Buriganga River and the situation of citizens of Dhaka, we took an initiative to form a company in the name of Karnaphuli Traders and Commission Agent to collect garbage from ships at Karnaphuli River in 2005.
